(Fadian, Mangilao) – The Guam Power Authority (GPA) welcomed the return of eight bucket trucks, utility trucks, and step vans to Guam last night, July 14, 2026, following their deployment to Saipan as part of the Authority’s commitment to mutual aid assistance in support of the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation's (CUC) post-Typhoon Sinlaku power restoration efforts.
With these critical assets now back on island, GPA will be expanding the deployment of aerial equipment and utility vehicles on the field, strengthening ongoing Super Typhoon Bavi restoration efforts and helping line crews accelerate power restoration for remaining customers as Phase III of recovery continues.
GPA extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Port Authority of Guam, Port Authority Police, U.S. Coast Guard, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Commonwealth Utilities Corporation (CUC), Guam Fire Department (GFD), Guam Customs & Quarantine Agency, Matson Navigation, Marianas Steamship Agencies, Inc. (MSA), Black Construction, Sakman Logistics, and all other partners who assisted with coordination and support for the successful return of these bucket trucks and utility vehicles.
